Overview
This course aims to reassess delegates on their understanding of what is required to be in charge of a worksite within a possession, to establish, maintain and give up worksites and authorise the movement of trains into or within the worksite.
Pre-Requisite Requirements
Due to COVID restrictions, it is recommended that candidates wear face masks in all communal areas.
It is the Sponsors responsibility to ensure candidates booked onto the course are eligible for the training they are to receive and in line with any relevant medical level or restriction that may apply, in accordance with NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements.
Please be aware that candidates will be treated on a training event as if they are at work and they must comply with the relevant medical policy and bring their Sentinel Smartcard which will be swiped at the start of the course.
Must be a minimum age of 18.
Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements to minimum medical level 2 (must have normal colour vision) and Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol).
Must have sufficient command of English language as detailed in Network Rail Company Specification NR/S/CTM/021 (Competence & Training in Track Safety).
Must bring Sentinel smart card with valid ES competency.
Please be advised that the competency can only be recertified if it is valid or within the 8 week grace period.
ES Logbook with a minimum of 4 entries since the interim assessment endorsed by Line Manager or Supervisor and 2 management reviews.
Work Experience Logbooks not meeting these requirements will result in candidates not being eligible to continue with the course.
Network Rail Handbook modules 1, 6, 7, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15 (we recommend that you revise these modules before attending the course).
Photo ID - For British Nationals - a current and valid recognised, branded form of identity token, used for accessing the RMI (Railway Maintained Infrastructure) such as a Sentinel Card, full driving licence, passport, biometric ID Card, resident permit as per Home Office guidance or 'ValIDate' card.
For Non-British Nationals - a current and valid passport is required.
Please advise of any special needs i.e. Dyslexia.
It is the responsibility of the individual trainees Manager to decide upon their suitability to attend the course in accordance with the current issue of NR/L2/CTM/021 Competence & Training in Track Safety.
Further Information
Following successful completion of the ES Recertification training, candidates will be required to undertake an Interim ES Assessment within 9-15 months.
