Pre-Requisite Requirements


Due to COVID restrictions, it is recommended that candidates wear face masks in all communal areas.


It is the Sponsors responsibility to ensure candidates booked onto the course are eligible for the training they are to receive and in line with any relevant medical level or restriction that may apply, in accordance with NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements.


Please note this is a modular course and elements MUST be successfully completed BEFORE continuation with the course, these elements can be failed which will result in the termination of the course event at that time.


No money will be refunded or credited for the course or part thereof due to failing to achieve the required pre requisite competence(s) to allow overall competence to be awarded (i.e. failure to meet the required pass mark for PTS Practical, the DCCR & Track Induction elements of the course cannot be completed).


Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements to minimum medical level 4 and meet the requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol).


Must have sufficient command of English language as detailed in Network Rail Company Specification NR/S/CTM/021 (Competence & Training in Track Safety).

Before course commencement, it is the responsibility for either the sponsor or candidate to log into the system to ensure that the username and password are working correctly [Please Note you do not need to complete the e-learning before attending the course].


To undertake the PTS Practical element of the course, candidate must have successfully completed the e-learning training and assessment prior to attendance.  Sponsor must have created a Sentinel profile for the candidate and uploaded a current photograph before course commencement.


At the start of the PTS Practical Event, you will need to complete and successfully pass a verification test to progress to the rest of the course. Failure to successfully complete the verification test, the learner will need to leave the course, after which it is adviseable to revisit the E-learning before attending a further PTS Practical Event.


To complete the DCCR element of the course, the PTS Practical must have been passed.


Photo ID - For British Nationals - a current and valid recognised, branded form of identity token, used for accessing the RMI (Railway Maintained Infrastructure) such as a Sentinel Card, full driving licence, passport, biometric ID Card, resident permit as per Home Office guidance or 'ValIDate' card.  For Non-British Nationals - a current and valid passport is required.

Certification


Upon successful completion of this course, competencies will be uploaded to Sentinel. Sentinel smart cards are ordered directly from Sentinel at www.railsentinel.co.uk
