Overview


This module is designed to train persons who are responsible for ensuring that the track is fit for operational purposes during and following work of raising and removing speed restrictions.


It is designed to develop a person’s knowledge, understanding and skills as defined in the competence standards listed below and is therefore particularly suited to persons required to prove their competence in these areas.


The module is linked to unit:


- Tr12 Ensure that the track is fit for operational purposes following heavy maintenance.


- Tr13 Ensure that the track is fit for operational purposes following track renewal.

Pre-Requisite Requirements


Due to COVID restrictions, it is recommended that candidates wear face masks in all communal areas.


It is the Sponsor's responsibility to ensure candidates booked onto the course are eligible for the training they are to receive and in line with any relevant medical level or restriction that may apply, in accordance with NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements.


Please be aware that candidates will be treated on a training event as if they are at work and they must comply with the relevant medical policy and bring their Sentinel Smartcard which will be swiped at the start of the course.


The certificate will confirm that the candidate has attended a training course with Intertrain to the required standards and has successfully completed the underpinning knowledge course.


Authorisation to perform Handback duties is the responsibility of the Sponsor company.


This card is only valid when held in conjunction with an Authority to Work card outlining the appropriate handback level (1-4) which has been issued by the Sponsor.


Must be a minimum age of 18.


Candidate(s) must have a valid Sentinel card endorsed with PTS and hold TR00 - Track Induction to be eligible for this training.


Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements to minimum medical level 4 and Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol).


Must have sufficient command of the English language as detailed in Network Rail Company Specification NR/S/CTM/021 (Competence & Training in Track Safety).


Photo ID - For British Nationals - a current and valid recognised, branded form of identity token, used for accessing the RMI (Railway Maintained Infrastructure) such as a Sentinel Card, full driving licence, passport, biometric ID Card, resident permit as per Home Office guidance or 'ValIDate' card. 

For Non-British Nationals - a current and valid passport is required.

It is the responsibility of the individual trainee's Manager to decide upon their suitability to attend the course in accordance with the current issue of NR/L2/CTM/021 Competence & Training in Track Safety.

Certification 


Upon successful completion, an in house certificate will be produced and sent to your primary sponsor.
